Activation of eID
After downloading and installing the Certilia middleware software package for your operating system, insert your ID card into your smart card reader.
Run the installed program (Certilia middleware) from your computer after installing the software package. Select the "Activate card" option inside the application and input your initaial PIN.
Follow the default steps to set the personal identification and signing PIN and PUK after entering the initial PIN.
Your electronic ID card is ready to use once the required data in all fields have been validated.
IMPORTANT: You must keep the electronic identity card's PIN safe and take precautions to prevent illegal access and use. Change your PIN if you think it has been discovered; if you have lost or forgotten it, call the nearest police department or station.
Software package Certilia middleware is free and available to all citizens after registration on the eID Portal or trough links below.
